You give up yet.

What, time to get up already.

You are kidding, she said that?

Hmmmm, have you been eating onions?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bite your tail so hard, I was only teasing.

So I ran after the ball, then I chased a car, and then I went and got the paper; hey, aren't you listening?

What, who, us?  We were no where near the toilet paper roll.  Not us, no way.

Don't worry about her saying you are fat, I loves ya jest the way you are.

Wait a minute, ain't I supposed to put my paws over my eyes if you hide.

Here, I brought him back, next time he goes for a walk you go get him.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Hey Irvin, your ear weighs a ton and I am stuck.

OK, on three, we all roll over.

He's mine, I caught him, you can't have him, he belongs to me, so there.

Actually Rex, I think it is your time to change the channel.

OK, I'll be the doughnut this time and you be the doughnut hole.

Don't worry Larry, they will have to come through me if they want to take you to the pound.

Friend,

Peggy is one of those animals that you can't ignore. She captured our hearts and I bet she'll capture yours too. See her left leg - it's a peg with no paw. That's why we named her Peggy.

Peggy is something special. She was found at Dog Condo, a dilapidated, over-crowed shelter in Thailand we worked hard to clean up this year. We don't know where Peggy came from, but we know she couldn't escape those horrible living conditions because she couldn't travel far on only 3 legs.

When our team returned to Dog Condo for the final phase of clean up – confident their work would give Peggy a better life – Peggy was found in a small, dirty, depressing cage. She had been moved into the cage for her own protection because several dogs had started ganging up on her. No matter how much we cleaned up the facility, we knew Peggy's life would be small and lonely in that cage.

That is why we are here. To save animals like Peggy from a life of sadness. Today, Peggy is receiving the attention she needs. She has been vaccinated and given a full check up by a veterinarian. Peggy doesn't have a home yet, but with your ongoing support we will find her a permanent, safe place to live.

Please, donate now so we can continue all our programs in 2013 and save more lives like Peggy's.

By donating to SPCA International this holiday season, you will ensure the Peggy and other animals here at home and around the world receive the love and attention they deserve.

As Christmas approaches give the gift of life to animals who are suffering. Please, make a donation right now so we can continue our vital work and help more dogs like Peggy find good homes.

For all the animals who need our help,
Oso

JD Winston
Executive Director

P.S. Please help us reach our goal of raising $98,000 before 2013. With your support - we can save thousands of lives together. Please, donate now!

Dear Cindy,

If you don't know what "crush videos" are, brace yourself. These videos feature animals, including mice, puppies, kittens, and rabbits, slowly tortured to death for the sexual gratification of fetishists. You can learn more in PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk's piece in The Huffington Post.

If you are horrified by this, then you'll want to know that PETA, with the help of Animal Beta Project, recently helped bring about the first federal indictment of a crush-video case in the United States after bringing the disturbing details to the attention of authorities in August. The judge in this case actually stopped court documents from being read aloud because the details were too graphic. Alleged perpetrators Brent Justice and Ashley Richards now each face up to 45 years in federal prison and up to $1.75 million in fines upon conviction. You can learn more about the case here.

All too often, these sorts of unspeakable acts happen simply because the general public is unaware. This is where organizations like PETA step in. But this injustice may never have been brought to light if one individual hadn't brought the videos to our attention. So the next time that you find yourself asking what you can do to end cruelty to animals, remember that even the simplest things can have a tremendous impact. Never be silent!

Sincerely,

The PETA Team
