Mastercard should cancel its promotion to a resort with 25 captive dolphins

Sign the Petition

Dear Cindy,

Hotel room at a Singapore resort: $253.

Discounted tickets to watch wild dolphins suffer in captivity: Priceless.

Mastercard is offering discounted tickets to the infamoous Resorts World Sentosa, a resort in Singapore that recently kidnapped 27 wild dolphins for an exhibit. Two of those dolphins have already died, and the 25 other dolphins are being held in brutal conditions until construction of the exhibit is complete. The surviving dolphins' risks of illness and death increase with each day of captivity.

100,000 Change.org members have already called on Resorts World Sentosa to release its captive dolphins. If Mastercard cancels its ticket discount promotion, it will put big financial pressure on the resort to finally set the dolphins free.

Please sign dolphin activist Barbara Napoles's petition on Change.org calling for Mastercard to stop offering discounted tickets to Resorts World Sentosa.

Statistics for captive dolphins are bleak. While dolphins in the wild usually live for 45 years, more than half of all captured dolphins die within their first two years of captivity.

In tanks, dolphins swim around in circles. They can't hunt. They're exposed to bacteria that have been known to cause blindness and death.

Resorts World Sentosa has canceled ocean animal exhibits from public pressure in the past. With 100,000 Change.org members already calling for the resort to free its captive dolphins, financial pressure from Mastercard could push the resort to finally take action.

Please sign the petition to ask Mastercard to cancel its ticket promotion to Resorts World Sentosa:

Thanks for being a change-maker,

Dear Cindy,

Thank you for contacting Army officials and urging them to stop violating military policy and replace cruel and crude nerve agent attack training procedures on vervet monkeys with modern simulators and other effective non-animal methods. Now that the Army has heard your voice, animals need you to reach out to your members of Congress about this urgent issue.

PETA is continuing its all-out effort to stop this cruelty. In addition to protests and complaints that we've filed with the Army, Emmy Award winner Woody Harrelson has now joined the campaign and written a letter to the Army urging it to replace this crude exercise with superior simulators that are already in use at other U.S. military installations and around the world.

Since the launch of our campaign, as a result of the overwhelming outcry that military officials received from dedicated animal advocates like you, the Army has been doing damage control by spreading misinformation about its course to the public and the media. For example, they have stated that there are no simulators available to replace animal use, yet they use simulators in parts of their own course and the monkey laboratory is optional, meaning that the Army itself already believes that soldiers can be properly trained to treat victims of a chemical attack without poisoning animals. We have updated our Web feature to set the record straight about this and other issues.

Please contact your members of Congress today to urge them to stop the Army from using animals in cruel chemical attack exercises.

Thank you for all that you are doing to help animals!

Sincerely,

Justin Goodman, M.A.

Dear Cindy,

Today is #AdoptDontBuy Day! We're celebrating adopted animals with a special #AdoptDontBuy hashtag on Twitter. Post a tweet telling us why you love your rescued friend or share a picture of your adopted animal companion with us—you may even see PETA re-tweet your comments and pics! Don't forget to include the #AdoptDontBuy hashtag in your tweet.

#AdoptDontBuy

Every dog or cat purchased from a pet store or a breeder takes away a home from an adoptable animal—meaning that one more animal in a shelter will die. Help PETA spread the word that adoption is the best option. Visit this special #AdoptDontBuy feature today and join the conversation! And be sure to follow PETA on Twitter for animal-friendly updates.

Dear Cindy,

I have some good news to share regarding the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) campaign that you took action on!

Earlier this year, the USDA launched its own investigation after PETA shared with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) evidence that dogs, monkeys, sheep, mice, and other animals at UTMB were being neglected, denied vital veterinary care, and cruelly handled by improperly trained staff before and after the animals were burned, cut open, and mutilated in painful and deadly experiments.

While the USDA's full investigation of PETA's complaint is still ongoing, we have just learned that an initial inspection report released by the USDA confirms PETA's allegations of abusive treatment of animals.

Thank you for being a voice for the animals imprisoned in UTMB's laboratories. However, there is still more that you can do to help animals!

Please take a few minutes of your time to help spare monkeys from archaic and cruel chemical casualty training exercises by clicking here to politely urge military officials to replace the use of animals in the upcoming Aberdeen Proving Ground laboratory with modern non-animal training methods.

Thank you for all that you do for animals.

Very truly yours,

Take a Stand Against Nestea's CruelTEA to Animals

Dear Cindy,

We need your help! The company that makes Nestea conducts deadly tea experiments that involve poisoning, electrically shocking, surgically mutilating, and decapitating animals. The company has caused animals to suffer simply to investigate the possible health benefits linked to tea products and ingredients, even though the Food and Drug Administration does not require any of these experiments and, in fact, U.S. and European regulators have stated that animal tests are not sufficient to prove health claims about food and beverage products.

Experimenters injected mice with toxic chemicals to destroy insulin-producing cells, causing the animals to develop diabetes, and then force-fed them tea ingredients before killing them. In another experiment, mice were force-fed tea extracts and then had their leg muscles cut open before being decapitated. That's not all—mice bred to suffer from brain damage and rapid aging were locked in dark chambers and given painful shocks to their extraordinarily sensitive feet before being killed. The list goes on—and the abuse will likely continue without your help.

Take a stand against Nestea's CruelTEA by refusing to buy Nestea until its maker ends its deadly tea tests and pledge to drink only cruelty-free tea such as Arizona, Celestial Seasonings, Honest Tea, Lipton, Luzianne Tea, Snapple, Stash Tea, Tazo, Twinings, and many more. You can take a vital step for animals by taking action and telling Nestea to ditch the CruelTEA and to use modern, cruelty-free research methods instead, like those employed by other major tea companies around the world.

TAKE ACTION!

You can do even more by sharing this shocking information on Facebook. The more people you spread the word to, the more people will be inspired to speak out against this atrocity. Be sure to browse through our brand-new website, NesteaCruelTEA.com, to learn about more ways that you can get involved.

Thank you for your compassion for mice, rats, and all animals.

Sincerely,

Tracy Reiman
